Kenyan Black Tea - A Gift That Gives Back!
Ajiri is an exceptional black tea with an exceptional mission. In addition to winning international tea awards for being beautifully full-bodied and smooth, Ajiri employs farmers and craftsman to grow the tea, with 100% of the profits supporting orphan education in western Kenya. Women in the villages use dried banana leaves to decorate each label by hand, as well, resulting in completely unique labels for each and every box. You can even keep each label, allowing you to create a collage of scenes from Kenya as seen by the local women. Each box includes 20 tea bags.
Meet The Maker:
“Ajiri” means "to employ" in Swahili. Sarah Holby founded Ajiri in 2009 as a way to create a sustainable income for farmers and craftsmen, while educating the youth in Kenya. Each label is made out of dried banana leaves, and every box is different from the next. All of the profits from the tea go towards educating orphans from the villages where the tea is made.
