"Learning to embrace the imperfect and entertain with thoughtfulness and ease"
Wabi-Sabi Welcome is a highly visual book that celebrates coming together, in our homes and in our lives, perfectly imperfect as we are. The idea of Wabi-Sabi Welcome is to convey just a few of the many warm expressions of hospitality that exist around the world, and to create a visual reminder that beauty can be found in many unexpected and unsuspecting places.
For those unfamiliar with the term wabi-sabi, it is a Japanese concept that honors the beauty of natural imperfection and a life of chosen simplicity.
MEET THE MAKER
Ever since Julie Pointer Adams learned to read at a young age, she has had an insatiable appetite for books and words, inspiring her love of writing today. That love of words is balanced by her equally-pressing pull towards the visual, grounded in a deep sensitivity to her environment and surroundings. Together, these inclinations, along with her interest in bringing people together as often, and as meaningfully, as possible, led Pointer Adams towards making this book.
Past work includes the creation of Kinfolk Magazine's international dinner and event series, as well as other roles for the magazine including writer, stylist, and producer.
